CONVERSE RUBBER TRACKS

Converse announces the return of the Converse Rubber Tracks pop-up studio in Amsterdam. This summer artists from across the Benelux region can apply to record for free in state-of-the-art facilities, at the Amsterdam Recording Company located on the Java-Eiland in the north of the city. The Converse Rubber Tracks studio will kick-off from May 27 to June 11, offering fourteen lucky acts a full day recording session under the guidance of expert technicians.

Converse is also bringing its successful Converse Rubber Tracks Live concept to Amsterdam for the first time in June, creating an energetic live music showcase where an established international artist will perform with selected Rubber Tracks artists, as part of the monthly Converse Red Light Sessions in collaboration with Red Light Radio.

Applications will open on April 27 and burgeoning artists will be able to apply via converse-music.com/rubbertracks/ams. The deadline for submissions is midday (12pm) on May 11.

Since the Brooklyn flagship studio opened in July 2011, over 900 emerging artists have had the opportunity to record original music alongside the Converse Rubber Tracks team of experienced engineers at no cost. The program has also evolved globally over the past three years with Converse creating pop-up Converse Rubber Tracks studios in key music cities including Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto, as well as Montreal, Hamburg, Beijing, Mexico City, Barcelona, Johannesburg, Bangkok, Berlin, Bogota, Santiago, Belo Horizonte, Recife, and London. Converse recently announced the opening of its second permanent Converse Rubber Tracks studio in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Converse’s ongoing commitment to music is also portrayed through its ongoing work with Red Light Radio in Amsterdam – an independent online radio station that broadcasts from the heart of the infamous Red Light District. Through its long-term creative partnership, Converse presents the Converse Red Light Sessions — a series of intimate live recordings that provides opportunities for both renowned and emerging artists to showcase their music in a unique environment. Since October 2012, the collaborative program has featured performances by a diverse range of artists including Shabazz Palaces, Dark Sky, Fumaça Preta, Nouveau Vélo and ZZZ.
