Lee Scratch Perry the reggae and dub legend is the subject of a new documentary.
Vision Of Paradise is a movie culmination of the German filmmaker Volker Schaner. A 15-year journey of Perry’s universe, travelling to Jamaica, Ethiopia, Germany, Switzerland and London. The movie shows Perry’s life and legacy from working under Coxsone Dodd in 1950s to the founding of The Upsetters and the Black Ark recording studio, working with Bob Marley, Junior Murvin, The Congos and many more.
The film premieres in the UK at the East End Film Festival on the 4th of July. The screening open to the public and includes a Q&A with Lee Scratch Perry and the director.
