Alongside working on various projects, commissioned works and designing for our Patta collections, our friend Vincent van de Waal also found the time to prepare his new exhibition entitled "Did You Think Of Me Today?". The exhibition opens next month at the Amsterdam Tattoo Museum, so be sure to go check that out.
Van de Waal has graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2006.
His work is characterized by its direct and uncut nature,
a strong personal attitude and an undeniable graphic sensibility.
The inescapability of death and the transience of human existence
play a central role in his recent work. This inescapability is particularly
felt in moments of strong awareness of being alive.
Van de Waal reduces this to the essential, in black and white,
depicted in a parade of the grotesque.
