Last week, Nike invited me to be a guest at the official Air Max 1 Engineered Mesh Launch at the Juice store in Hong Kong. The event was a nice get-together with fellow guests and friends Nathan Jobe (Nike), Steve Bryden (Crooked Tongues), Michael Dupouy (LaMJC), Sharmadean Reid (WAH Nails), DJ Wordy (DJ/producer) and the Juice/CLOT hosts Edison Chen and Kevin Poon, whom all shared stories on the history and culture of the iconic Air Max.
For the occasion, the Juice store was transformed into a Centre Pompidou-esque setting (Tinker Hatfield's inspiration for the OG AM1), showcasing the history of Air Max. It was quite interesting to hear about the different angles and perspectives that all started with Tinker's creation 26 years ago.
A little sneaker chitty chat chat with the homies.
Topped off with a little DJ'ing.
Haaa, Hip Hop right here: Prepare, Wordy, Chef and C-Infamous!
