The artist collective Indebt will open an independent exhibition featuring European artists on May 26th. NO SPOON will feature works by Ciro Duclos, Benjamin Harpsoe, Fabian Bredt, Martin Brandt, Noah Latif Lamp and introducing Tom Galesloot. In addition, the self-initiated exhibition will be supported by music from Lord Akton.
At the exhibition NO SPOON, national and international artists explore local and inter-local relationships through a wide array of mediums and backgrounds. The artists are all committed to combat the cultural climate-- clogged up by dependency issues regarding the municipal and gallery reliance that governs Amsterdam currently.

Asked about the exhibit, initiators and participators Noah Latif Lamp and Ciro Duclos posit their worry concerning the near paralytic state of un-production, un-collectivity and an overall lack of self-initiation and engagement in and by Amsterdam. Through the implementation of intermediaries in his practice, Duclos aims to explore the grey areas of legality, artistic representation and exclusion-- poignant notions within the current creative stratus. Fabian Bredt engages in a similar discourse. Mirrored mattresses adorn the walls, facilitating a hypnotic interplay between the supposed *filthy word* ‘sexyness’ that so often is sought after in a galleristic context, and its reflexive attitude towards art-viewer and buyer alike. The reflexivity is reminiscent of a bachelor pad’s ceiling mirror has descended into the bed itself.
Overall the NO SPOON exhibit displays a strong grass-roots type call to action. Where self-initiation, dada-esque comradery and an essential intersocietal hustle are ever present. This hustle has been able to mobilize an entirely new group of upcoming artists that are willing to throw the whole cutlery drawer out-- no butter knives, lobster forks and no silver spoons.
The exhibition title NO SPOON is derived from The Matrix and credit where credit is due, internet somebody Hannah-Louise Roxx explained it most aptly:
