To celebrate KARHU’S 100TH anniversary, KARHU and Patta have partnered once again to collaborate on a special footwear release. The category of shoes known as the Synchron first made their debut in the early 1980s. Over the years, as the assortment got bigger it was always easy to recognize the group by the unorthodox lacing system in the toe box. The research and design team wanted to provide a better fitting upper and came up with the innovative lacing system for added comfort and durability.
Patta’s take on the KARHU Synchron Classic is crafted from premium nubuck on the uppers (a first for the silhouette), balanced out with durable mesh, pigskin leather lining, and 3M reflective accents. The heels feature embroidered Patta and KARHU branding on each shoe. The woven tongue label is kept intact from the original Synchron Classic, which now highlights both brands. The collaborating partners are again highlighted on the sublimated sockliners. Each pair comes with 3 sets of laces with aglet branding, including the original zigzag-pattern characteristic of the original Synchron Classic.
In order to commemorate the brand’s centennial milestone, the team searched deep into the archives looking for a special model to re-release.
