Avant Arte, the creative marketplace that makes discovering and owning art radically more accessible, announces a first-time collaboration with celebrated artist Parra and Patta bringing together three iconic Amsterdam-based creatives.
The timed release print ‘When the Smoke Clears’ is available for 48 hours only from 6pm CET Thursday 22nd September to 6pm CET Saturday 24th September on avantarte.com. The silk-screen print is aimed at first-time collectors and fans of Parra and will be available for €250.00.
The collaboration delivers on a long-held ambition of Avant Arte co-founders Christian Luiten and Curtis Penning to work with Parra and Patta. Both co-founders grew up in a regional town in the Netherlands, Almere admiring and wearing Patta. Neither visited art museums or galleries and came to art through the lyrics and album covers of Kanye West. Avant Arte started life in 2015 on Instagram when Luiten and Penning wanted to share the work of artists they admired and has since grown to a community of 2.5m art lovers and collectors. From the very beginning, Parra has been one of their favourite artists with a Parra print being the first artwork Luiten ever acquired.
Proceeds of the collaboration will go to Patta Academy, a talent school set up by Patta to stimulate young entrepreneurship in Amsterdam by recruiting talented individuals and helping them realise their dreams. Patta will host a pop-up space in Amsterdam on Saturday, September 24th until Sunday, September 25th where a limited edition of 500 t-shirts and a limited edition 60 shadow prints of ‘When the Smoke Clears’ will be available. Profits will go to the Patta Academy.
