Founded in 1916 by Finnish company Ab Sports Artiklar, Karhu is without a doubt a brand with a long line of heritage. In Finnish, the word Karhu means bear. The strength and reliability of the footwear correlates closely to its namesake's physical attributes. The brand is also famous for trademarking the three stripes logo which they later sold to adidas.
Following the success of the 2016 collaboration on the Fusion 2.0, Karhu and Footpatrol have once again teamed up to rework the Legacy '96 silhouette. This time they have called upon renowned streetwear designer, Sasu Kauppi for the iteration. Consisting of a mixed material upper of suede, nubuck and mesh in a subdued neutral colourway that puts focuses more on the texture of the shoe.
The collab also boasts a specially designed “KARHU LOGO” by Kauppi himself, made using letters from all three brand logos. This logo is also featured on the shoe box making this a must collect for all fans of the Swedish footwear giants.
