PATTA / DANA LIXENBERG DOUBLESIDED T-SHIRT & BOOK

Patta and Roma Publications are happy to announce the publication of Tupac Biggie, a new book by acclaimed Dutch photographer Dana Lixenberg.

The book is designed by highly respected graphic design duo Mevis & van Deursen and presents a visual history of Lixenberg’s iconic photographs of Biggie and Tupac. These photographs, commissioned by VIBE magazine in 1993 and 1996, have been appropriated until this day by innumerable admirers around the world. The book shows both shoots in their entirety for the first time and retraces the unforeseen trajectory and ubiquity of these images. The publication is accompanied by an essay written by Robert Kenner and a poem by Kevin Powell - both renowned contributors of VIBE magazine - as well as a large poster.

On the occasion of this release Patta has also created a T-shirt honoring the artists and photographs. The T-shirt features iconic shots of both artists as back prints and is fully reversible.

Both the Tupac Biggie book and the T-shirt will be available for purchase for the first time on Thursday October 11th at GRIMM, during Lixenberg’s exhibition American Images. A very small restock of T-shirts from the Patta x Dana Lixenberg Signature Collection will also be for sale at the event. 

In line with the T-shirt release, Patta Soundsystem’s Vic Crezée created a mixtape with music and soundbytes by all personalities featured in Lixenberg’s American Images show. The Mixtape will be released on Tuesday, October 9th.

The Patta x Dana Lixenberg 2Pac & Biggie Doublesided T-Shirt  & Dana Lixenberg’s Tupac Biggie Book will be available in store at Patta Amsterdam, London and on Friday October 12th. Remaining items will be sold online.
