Patta & Diadora have come together to craft a new shoe for the Spring Summer season of 2021. Now on their fifth shoe together, the Patta x Diadora N9000 Game On echoes Patta’s historic relationship with football. Patta first reworked with the Diadora N9000 back in to 2014 and they are back with a fresh take on the classic shoe. Taking inspiration from 90s football players on their last collaboration, the latest iteration of Patta & Diadora’s collaboration takes a look back on another beloved athlete from European football history.

First released in 1990, the N9000 was engineered with runners in mind featuring VIBRASSORB sole cushioning technology and EVA support which met the contemporary demands of runners. It was a running shoe often seen on football players such as Baggio and Van Basten between games and during training. With Diadora sponsoring the Italian National Team during the World Cup in 1990, the shoe was also seen on a global stage and assumed its position at the top of the contemporary running industry due to its forward thinking technology and its high quality construction.

Patta & Diadora pay homage to another great football player in 2021. The last N9000 they worked on together was a tribute to the legendary Van Basten of Milan and this time round it's one of the most successful players in football history.

The “9” detail on the heel is presented in the style of Christian “Bobo” Vieri’s famous football jersey. Throughout the center forward’s career he was sporting the number 9 jersey as he would lead his teams to victory. The Italian striker is one of the best strikers in the history of Italian football and at one point the world most expensive football player in the world breaking records, when he was traded from Lazio to Inter Milan in the summer of 1999 for €43 Million Euros. Vieri’s nomadic football career was sponsored by Diadora during the early 2000s in which he would secure even more Championships as well as being voted by Pele into the FIFA 100, a list of the 125 best living football players.

With its presence felt in multiple sports, the N9000 transitioned slowly into a lifestyle shoe, often seen in and around football stadiums on the feet of the “Casuals'' subculture. The N9000 is synonymous with the 90s era of Diadora’s running trainers and the shoe has been a host for many colourways typically mirrored in tracksuits.

The Patta x Diadora N9000 Game On is made in Italy and features an upper composed of Reverse Nubuck Suede, Premium Leather and Breathable Nylon Mesh. Held together by black stitching and classic gum sole, the shoe lives up to the luxury standard of Diadora’s running shoe range.

The brand new Patta x Diadora N9000 Game On will be available on the Friday, 30th Of April via diadora.patta.nl, as well as in Patta London, Patta Milano & Patta Amsterdam.
